At the beginning of 2023, together with Mireia Peñalver i Guilleumes and Johann Martin Krampe, we formed the Daimona Ensemble.
The Daimona Ensemble was awarded the 1st prize at the Biagio Marini International Competition in Neuburg an der Donau in southern Germany. The preparations for the competition were an interesting adventure for us, during which we delved deeper into the repertoire of German music from the late 17th century. We are very pleased that our work was appreciated by the competition jury, which consisted of outstanding musicians specializing in early music.
This competition was a very valuable experience for us. We had the chance to hear performances by other ensembles, which were highly inspiring for us. Congratulations to all the other ensembles as well, with whom we had the opportunity to share the stage during the competition.
We also want to highlight the atmosphere of the competition – everything took place in a very friendly environment, allowing us to feel more at ease during our performance. We could approach it as a chance to present our perspective on music rather than just a competition. The competition was exceptionally well-organized, and the jury consisted of musicians who radiated positive energy and passion. The jury also provided constructive feedback to each group after their performances.
We are very pleased that we could be a part of this competition this year and join the ranks of the laureates.
Special thanks to Professor Avinoam Shalev, who provided us with a lot of inspiration during lessons and who was always rooting for us.

A Daimon (Ancient Greek δαίμων daímōn, plural daímones) is a spiritual being in Greek mythology and philosophy. The term can refer to a god or the soul of a deceased person; however, it usually pertains to beings that belong to a class distinct from gods and humans. The daimones serve as intermediaries between gods and humans.
